RESEARCH AREAS
We pioneer new ways of farming and monitoring techniques to increase productivity and competitiveness of growing crops. Thanks to the advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and internet-of-things (IoT) technologies, it is now possible to empower unmanned control and remote sensing in farming innovation initiatives. Our goal is to make farming environmentally sustainable while enabling the healthy food system cost-effective. We actively advocate the concept of farming-as-a-service. By growing greens in a neighbourhood methodology, we are able to bring the food source closer to the people. In addition, we develop advanced farm management technologies that empower land owners and farmers to adopt novel farming techniques leveraging on innovative business models to maximise the yield and quality of production.
Apart from food crops, we are also engaged into the plantation of oil-bearing crops such as Jatropha which can generate oil from its seeds for conversion into biodiesel. For example, Jatropha can grow in dry marginal non-agricultural lands, thereby allowing villagers and farmers to leverage non-farm land for income generation. Biodiesel is biodegradable and non-toxic, and can be used in diesel engines. Typically, petroleum can be mixed to produce a biodiesel blend such as B5 meaning 5% biodiesel mix for use in vehicles. The biodiesel products will likely take time to be widely adopted but we don't stop to continue our development in such areas.

OUR TECHNOLOGIES
We advocate the concept of growing greens for the community in the neighbourhood. We started off with the outdoor vertical farm using hydroponic techniques, then move it into indoor vertical farm under controlled environment. By growing crops with hydroponics indoor enables the farm to operate throughout the year. We are able to optimise the control of the temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, lighting and nutrients where production yield has significantly improved. Then we developed and launched the box farm which is vending machine like for growing hydroponic greens targeting customers in-store. This microfarm concept is appealing due to its small footprint which allows it to be easily installed at public locations including restaurants, malls, hotels, schools and corporate locations. Our latest development is a container farm which adopts our purpose-built vertical farm modules to fully empower the neighourhood farming methodology. These vertical farm modules are extremely flexible and can fit easily into virtually any space regardless of its structural complexity or size. With our built-in AIoT sensors and control, we are able to empower this mobile farm methodology into an unmanned farming environment. Our goal is to eliminate supply chain intermediaries so that food service providers receive fresh produce at their doorstep.
